How to convert feet and inches to cm
Work in inches first. cm = (feet × 12 + inches) × 2.54. For 5'8": 5 × 12 = 60, plus 8 = 68 inches, and 68 × 2.54 = 172.72 cm. A whole foot is 30.48 cm and a single inch is 2.54 cm, so you can also add the two parts: 5 × 30.48 = 152.4 cm, plus 8 × 2.54 = 20.32 cm, gives the same 172.72 cm.
